What should you bid ?
This is the exception. Since your partner promised 8 tricks on his own, and you have another 2 with the adjacent Ace and King, you can count on 10 tricks - provided there is an 8-card trump match, as in this case.

A K Q 9 3
What should you bid ?
A bid of 4 Hearts promises enough for game and no more. A bid of 3 Hearts is stronger, and shows 3-card support for your partner's suit, an Ace, and an interest in Slam. You certainly have more than game here, so let's explore things further.

What should you bid ?
Don't bid 2 NT, because that means "I'm very weak with 0-7 HCP". With stoppers in all suits, it's likely you've got a 3NT contract here.

What should you bid ?
Your spades are not very good, but you have a lot of them. And you merely need to bid at the 2-level to mention them. The only other option is 3NT, but you can get to that later if needed, because your bid is forcing to game.

What should you bid ?
You have a balanced hand with 13 HCP. That makes 33 HCP between you, or equivalent. Your biggest danger is that your partner lacks the Aces in both Clubs and Spades, which is possible but not very likely, since he has counted 8 certain tricks in his own hand.

K Q 10 7 4 2
6 5 4 2
What should you reply ?
Don't bid 2 diamonds, as that means I'm weak, with fewer than 8 HCP. You want to say that you have your own good suit in diamonds. It's long and strong and could get you to Slam.
For "Weak 2" bidders, the bidding sequence would be different: reply 2 Diamonds (that's an automatic relay), listen to your partner's rebid, then bid 3 diamonds.
